Origin One Dental
The 3D printing company Stratasys has announced a new addition to its dental printer lineup. The Origin® One Dental is a 3D printer powered by proprietary print technology called Programmable Photo Polymerization P3® that is said to enable accuracy, part-to-part consistency, and throughput. It has an open materials infrastructure, making it widely compatible with various applications at a lower cost. The Origin One acts as a follow-up to the Stratasys J5 DentaJet, which launched in spring 2021. Together, these printers can offer a robust, streamlined workflow for dental labs, with Origin One Dental introducing this proprietary technology and the J5 DentaJet offering a unique mixed-materials, single-tray methodology.
Whether through same-day chairside restorations or clinic-dental lab integrated treatments, Aurident’s Aoralscan 3 intraoral scanner by Shining 3D is designed to provide a state-of-the-art user experience. The third-generation version of the company’s Aoralscan model features a new design, fast scan speed, high accuracy, powerful artificial intelligence processing, intuitive communication, and a 3-year warranty. It can be applied for general restorations, implants and orthodontics. The lightweight scanner has 1-button control, auto antifogging, a dynamic LED indicator, and is ergonomically designed for optimal hand-held operation. The scan field of view is 58% greater than Aoralscan 2, with a 16 by 12 mm FOV (standard tip), and deep scan depth of up to 22 mm.
Air Filtration System
The Defend 400 (NV 400) is a United States Food and Drug Administration-cleared Class II medical device that is reportedly 99.9% effective against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, bacteria, and airborne pathogens such as SARS-CoV-2. It is also said to purify the air by removing particulate matter, volatile organic compounds, gases, and odors. The new unit features NanoStrike™ technology—a method of air disinfection that bursts airborne pathogen cells, rapidly inactivating them to ensure they are no longer a threat. The Defend 400 also utilizes a 4-stage pathogen inactivation and filtration process with medical-grade filers from Camfil® to capture debris along with large and fine particles. The filtration system is said to produce no emissions or harmful by-products and is portable.
The new DWindeX2 performance visualization software is suitable for all current DWX series mills including the DWX-42W, DWX-52D, DWX-52DC, and DWX-52DCi models. DWindeX2 comes with a dashboard featuring artificial intelligence (AI) that allows users to monitor and collect data on machine performance, maintenance, and productivity. The dashboard will also offer users summaries of material and tool usage for each device and history of the device. This AI technology is said to reduce downtime and boost productivity through its single-location, remote viewing.

DMP Flex 200
The DMP Flex 200 uses direct metal printing (DMP) technology for the 3D printed metal manufacturing of small, complex, fine-detail metal parts. This is said to make it ideal for dental applications, including next-day removable partial dentures, crowns, bridges, and implant bars. The Flex 200 features a 500-W laser source and a larger build volume of 140 by 140 by 115 mm. It also features a build plate clamping mechanism that eliminates the need for screw management inside the process chamber. The unit features 3DXpert software for part setup and production, and an all-in-1 integrated production.

Nexa3D has announced its new desktop 3D printer, the XiP™. The XiP printer joins the NXE 400 and NXD 200 in Nexa3D’s 3D printing offerings. The new desktop is designed with a smaller footprint and smaller price point. The XiP features a large build volume, 3.8-L print volume, high resolution, and 50-μm/100-μm/200-μm layer thickness. It also relies on a smart resin cartridge and a toolless vat system. Smart feed resin delivery allows for touch-free material loading and intelligent polymer levels in the vat.
