Carestream Dental has partnered with MicroDental Laboratories to offer practices using CS 3500 intraoral scanners the ability to fabricate a range of dental restorations at any of their in-network labs.

Carestream Dental has partnered with MicroDental Laboratories to offer practices using CS 3500 intraoral scanners the ability to fabricate a range of dental restorations at any of their in-network labs.

Accordingly, dental practices can now send image data captured with the CS 3500 directly to MicroDental Laboratories located in the United States and Canada for fabrication.

"As Carestream Dental expands into the CAD/CAM market, gaining the support of the top dental labs is critical,” said Ed Shellard, DMD, chief marketing officer and director of business development for Carestream Dental. “We’re excited about working with MicroDental Laboratories and what this means for our mutual customers.”

"MicroDental is pleased to add the CS 3500 to the comprehensive list of digital impression scanners supported by our laboratories,” said Kim Bradshaw, president and CEO of MicroDental Laboratories. "At MicroDental, we are devoted to embracing cutting-edge technologies and partnering with technologically sophisticated companies to enhance customer experience and patient satisfaction. Our partnership with Carestream Dental testifies to that intent.”

The CS 3500 is designed to enable dental professionals to easily capture the true-color 2D and 3D images needed to design restorations. Requiring no external heater, powder or trolley system, the CS 3500 features high-angulation scanning of up to 45 degrees and to a depth of -2 to +13mm. Additionally, the CS 3500 features a light guidance system that aids in the capture of the data during the image acquisition process.

MicroDental Laboratories is one of the leading dental laboratory partners for dental practices that are shifting to digital dentistry. With a 30 percent year over year increase in cases submitted through digital impression scanners, dentists who go digital with MicroDental Laboratories reportedly experience a decrease in remakes and an increase in patient satisfaction. Dentists using MicroDental Laboratories also qualify for the company’s Impression Free Rebate Program, which helps practices cover the monthly lease of digital impression systems.
