REVIEW: Patterson Dental's CAESY Cloud for patient education

We all know proper patient education can make a big difference in case acceptance, but it can be difficult to ensure each staff member is providing consistent messaging in his or her talks with each patient. It also can be challenging to describe some procedures and recommendations without graphic illustrations.

Several years ago, I discovered the benefits of using CAESY Patient Education presentations to help address these issues. At the time, the practice I worked in used CAESY Enterprise, which uses a server-based system to connect operatories around the office to the CAESY presentations.

Now, however, my current office uses an option that makes it even easier to access CAESY presentations to help illustrate recommendations for patients. CAESY Cloud provides offices with instant access to the same CAESY presentations now online via the cloud. CAESY Cloud also offers users the ability to link CAESY Patient Education presentations directly to their practice websites.

This allows dentists to grow their patient portfolio by better promoting their services to current and potential clients.

What are CAESY Cloud’s benefits?

Presentations can be played from any device with Internet access, including computers, smartphones, iPods and iPads. There are no hardwired network connections necessary, so the system can be accessed from any device in the practice. No installation is required, and the only ongoing expense is a low monthly subscription fee. With all of the presentation data stored on the cloud, users never have to worry about updates again; new and updated presentations are immediately available to subscribers for streaming.

How easy was it to incorporate CAESY Cloud into your practice?

Implementing this service was simple, and staff members-from hygienists to even office managers-have responded enthusiastically to its easy-to-use interface and broad variety of presentations. As a CEREC practice, we were especially glad to find presentations relating to the in-office crown procedure. We also have access to presentations in both English and Spanish, which helps ensure we provide the same level of patient education to our Spanish-speaking patients.

Why would you recommend the CAESY Cloud tool to other clinicians?

We have seen this system prove its worth with increased case acceptance. For example, our hygienists previously struggled with helping patients understand perio and its consequences, and often encountered resistance when recommending patients return for appointments every three months instead of six.
