One clinician's take on how BISCO's ALL-BOND UNIVERSAL is easier to use without sacrificing results.

BISCO consistently provides a great deal of research and evidence backing up all of their products. So when they introduced ALL-BOND UNIVERSAL I did not hesitate to try it out. To be honest, I may have been a little skeptical at first since I was wondering how effective these universal one-bottle systems could possibly be, but that was relatively short lived.

BISCO does not put out a product that is not tested and tested and tested. I had first heard about ALL-BOND UNIVERSAL three, four years ago, that it was in development. And now we finally get to see it come to fruition.

When did you first begin using ALL-BOND UNIVERSAL in your practice?

I’ve been using it for about a year now. BISCO came to me and shared this great new product. The one reason I trust BISCO and why I like it is the research that they do. Once I had the opportunity to review their studies and then started using the product, I found it to be awesome.

What are the best benefits of this material?

The best benefit in using it, of course, is the technique. When you use a two-step procedure the technique becomes extremely sensitive. Once you can simplify the materials to one bottle the technique sensitivity becomes a lot less problematic.

The other thing is that it’s simply just much easier to use and the technique is far less technique sensitive which is a huge benefit for both the patient and for us. The results that you can get for bonding, I think are way more consistent, especially for posterior bonding.

Patient satisfaction and comfort is really high. I definitely, without question, have less patient sensitivity with this material than I have ever had with any other material I’ve used.

First, I’ll etch the enamel and then I’ll go ahead and use ALL-BOND UNIVERSAL. I use it on pretty much everything now. I cement my IPS e.max restorations with it; I cement any type of indirect resin technique or indirect porcelain technique. It is now what’s in my hands.

For probably the first 6 months I did not use it on anterior teeth, but now I use it without hesitation. I’ll etch totally and then I’ll use it in the anterior. I was just having such great results with it in the posterior region that I just had to go ahead and try the anterior. We started using it in abfraction areas and once we saw the great results we started using it everywhere.

Why would you recommend this product to colleagues?

The ease, the consistency and the lack of technique sensitivity makes it a must have product for your practice. It’s easy to use, you get consistent results with it plus it provides a great bond. It’s a great material and you can use it for multiple techniques.

You can use it without using any etch or you can use it with an etch. It’s your choice. ALL-BOND UNIVERSAL is a product that I believe is the next step in the future of adhesive dentistry.
