The American Dental Association is offering dentists the opportunity to pre-order dental procedure coding books prior to them becoming available in October. These books have proven popular with ADA members who benefit from members-only discounts.

The new CDT 2013: Dental Procedure Codes book contains the CDT Code. The CDT Code, which is another name for the Code on Dental Procedures and Nomenclature, is the standard for recording dental services in patient records, on paper claim forms, and on HIPAA standard electronic claim transactions. The book is a streamlined reference manual for every dental practice. CDT Code updates effective Jan. 1, 2013, include: 35 new, 37 revised, and 12 deleted codes along with seven new or revised service categories and subcategories.

The CDT 2013: Dental Procedure Codes book is $39.95 for ADA members and $59.95 for nonmembers.

The new Dental Coding Made Simple: Resource Guide and Training Manual helps dentists and their dental teams understand the basics - and the complexities - of dental procedure coding, claim submission and third-party payer claim adjudication. Knowing how to use the CDT saves time and helps ensure the dental practice and patients are correctly reimbursed. Revised to address CDT Code changes and the evolving needs of dentistry, the new Resource Guide includes:

• answers to 151 of the most common coding and claim submission questions;

• more than 25 coding exercises that address a variety of clinical coding scenarios of increasing complexity;

• illustrated sections on the mouth, dental implants, and tooth numbering;

• instructions on how to complete the new HIPAA Compliant 2012 ADA Dental Claim Form; and

• a continuing education examination with 5 CE Credits.

 The Dental Coding Made Simple: Resource Guide and Training Manual is $49.95 for ADA members and $74.95 for nonmembers. Visit the ADAcatalog.org or call 800.947.4746 to order.
