Ivoclar’s Ivotion Denture System now features an add-on module in exocad’s DentalCAD software designed to enable a simple, efficient and fully digital manufacturing process for high-quality dentures.

With this partnership, exocad, and Ivoclar are collaborating to improve digital dental prosthetics and to improve workflow efficiencies.

Ivoclar is a global leader in the manufacturing of integrated solutions for high-quality dental applications with an extensive product and systems portfolio for clinicians, dental technicians and dental hygienists. The company’s Ivotion Denture System solution is designed to provide fast and efficient fabrication of esthetic removable, customized prostheses.

Integrating with exocad
Ivoclar has a long partnership with exocad, one of the leading providers of dental CAD/CAM software. This collaboration enables users to realize an efficient manufacturing process for the digital fabrication of high-quality, removable dentures.

The exocad DentalCAD software reliably supports Ivoclar's entire digital production process: from scanning and design to fabrication, Ivoclar states. Together, the 2 companies work to create new standards in the digitalization of complete prosthetics.

The strength of DentalCAD lies in its simple and intuitive operation with the software interface mirroring the analog working environment. Another plus: even the standard version of the software covers many application areas–including complex ones–and offers attractive application options. The manufacturing process is designed to enable a customized digital fabrication with a result that is tailored to the patient's needs.

In addition, the FullDenture module provides users with tooth libraries, morphing tools and set-up functions for the design of complete dentures. The Ivotion Denture add-on module also contains all features of the patented oversize process in conjunction with the tried-and-tested discs Ivotion Base, Ivotion Dent and Ivotion Dent Multi, Ivoclar adds. Features of the monolithic process with Ivotion and the shell geometry, which complete the range of applications, also are available. For users who already have an Ultimate Lab bundle license for the exocad software, the Ivotion Denture add-on module will automatically be enabled with the upgrade to Elefsina. Only the Ivoclar dental libraries need to be ordered separately.

Ivotion Denture System
As an integral part of the Digital Denture workflow, this advanced system allows users to digitally fabricate dentures quickly and efficiently. With the Ivotion Denture System, the combination of ease of use and speed with which results are achieved has impressed both users and patients alike, according to Ivoclar.

The pioneering Ivotion disc is a key component of the system. The disc plays a crucial role in the monolithic fabrication of complete dentures by combining proven tooth and denture base materials in 1 single disc. This method cuts down on manufacturing time compared to conventional methods.

Another option uses the patented oversize process for denture fabrication, a process noted for being straightforward and efficient, and for providing consistent and reliable results. Until now, this process has only been available on Ivoclar milling machines, but as of this summer the vhf mills will also have the capacity of using this production method.
