Many dental offices are moving away from AOX conversions--utilizing a digital flow where photogrammetry is used to design the interim after implants are placed. These interims are either milled or printed and then finished for a quick delivery. Our lab has clients, including our own clinic, who use our stackable guides. We quickly found that the foundation/reduction guide in our system would be a perfect fiduciary for this digital flow. We needed a surgical guide solution though with the extra stability needed to make this flow accurate and predictable. Also, we wanted to mill these in house rather than sending them out for metal printing. I am going to show you how.
