Artificial intelligence (AI) dental group, Perimetrics, Inc. plans to form a new clinical advisory board to oversee its new InnerView™ Technology. InnerView is a diagnostic system designed to detect failing restoration and mobility in teeth, according to a press release, and Perimetrics is seeking regulatory approval for it now.

The advisory board will be a group of dental professionals that can offer key insight and expertise on tooth damage, according to CEO and chairman of Perimetrics, Robert Hayman.

“As we bring a new disruptive technology to the dental industry, the Clinical Advisory Board is a crucial element in understanding how InnerView will be utilized in the clinical setting and the needs of patients,” Hayman says in the press release. “The Clinical Advisory Board is very invested in guiding Perimetrics through clinical development to commercial launch, providing real-world insights into the current pain points when detecting tooth damage.”

The Clinical Advisory Board will be comprised of: Jeffrey Dalin, DDS, FACD, FAGD, FICD, FADI; Jack Ferracane, PhD; Robert Kelly, DDS, MS, ,DMedSC; Kenneth Malament, DDS, MScD; Linda Niessen, DMD, MPH, MPP; Clifford Ruddle, DDS, FACD, FICD; E. Todd Scheyer, DDS, MS; and John West, DDS, MSD.

This group will provide guidance as InnerView moves to market, helping this vital technology reach a wider audience and assist more clinicians, according to director and co-founder Cherilyn Sheets, DDS.

“The current tools for diagnosing tooth damage are so limited in their effectiveness that dentists often feel like they are flying blind,” Dr Sheets says in the press release. “Now, we are on the cusp of changing how we as clinicians practice dentistry, providing an innovative solution to finding cracked teeth, failed restorations, and abnormal mobility. We are very proud to have assembled such an esteemed group for our Clinical Advisory Board who will work with us to support our mission of solving dentistry’s biggest diagnostic issue.”
