Orthodontics company Six Month Smiles offers patient referral program

Article

Guided orthodontics company Six Month Smiles' EVERYONE program will refer new patients to practices.

Guided orthodontics company Six Month Smiles® has announced the start of a new referral program to help dentists rebound from the COVID-19 pandemic shutdowns. The company will implement a new patient referral program that puts financed new patients who are ready to accept treatment into the practices of dentists looking for a low-cost way to attract new patients.

In this new EVERYONE™ program, dentists who are trained in 6MS Invisible Aligners® will receive fully-financed new patients ni their area at no cost to them. These dentists will clinically qualify referral patients to be treated with aligners or recommend the necessary restorative work to bring their oral health up to an acceptable standard. If the patient is a candidate for aligners, the dentist gets paid for treatment upfront and does not pay a lab fee, a statement from 6 Month Smiles read.

“At a time where so many patients and practices are feeling the pinch of COVID-19, we’re proud to be able to drive new patient marketing on behalf of our dentists,” said Six Month Smiles CEO Perry Lowe. “If the patient is not a candidate for aligners, the dentist is able to assess charges for restorative work according to their fee schedule.

“Approximately 85% of consumers are unable or don’t believe they will qualify for traditional financing, and dentists have few options to nance these patients without taking on the risk of higher defaults,” Lee continued. “Ultimately most dentists are able to offer treatment to about 15% of the addressable market.”

The EVERYONE program was created in response to dentists wanting to offer an alternative to teledentistry. Through this program, patients will be instantly approved for financing payments as low as $86 per month. Six Month Smiles will handle the marketing, manage the financing plan, and will assume the financial risk.

Starting on September 1, current Six Month Smiles dentists who have either attended the company’s hands-on aligner training or completed the Aligner Essentials e-Course, are eligible to receive new patients through the EVERYONE program. Dentists must log in to their Six Month Smiles account and complete the opt-in steps in order to begin receiving these referrals. Dentists who are not currently Six Month Smiles providers but wish to take part in the program must complete the Aligner Essentials e-Course prior to opting-in.

Currently, the EVERYONE program is only available to dentists in the United States and its territories. To learn more about the program or to find out how to become a Six Month Smiles provider, click here.
