Nicolas Weidmann promoted to head up Nobel Biocare's global marketing efforts

In a move aimed to improve marketing to customers, Nobel Biocare recently announced the promotion of Nicolas Weidmann to the position of Head of Global Marketing. Weidmann had previously been the implant, guided surgery and CAD/CAM company's Head of Global Communications. He will retain responsibility for Nobel Biocare's corporate communications while also taking on worldwide marketing responsibilities. According to a press release, the company hopes to the move will increase the effectiveness of the company's marketing efforts while also making them more efficient.

Nobel Biocare strengthens its Global Sales and Customer Development team and streamlines marketing functions

Nobel Biocare is further strengthening its customer marketing activities by reallocating senior management capabilities to this area. In this context, Nicolas Weidmann, Head of Global Communications, assumes worldwide responsibility for marketing as Head Global Marketing. In his new role, Nicolas Weidmann will report to Melker Nilsson, Head Global Sales and Customer Development. This move allows greater focus and alignment of the company's global marketing activities. Nicolas Weidmann will remain responsible for Corporate Communications and will continue to report to the CEO for these functions. In order to focus on his new role, Nicolas Weidmann will step down from the Executive Committee of Nobel Biocare as of 5 June 2012.

In a related move, Nobel Biocare is establishing an Extended Leadership Team to better lead and align the organization’s day to day operations. Nicolas Weidmann will be a member of this team, which also includes the Regional Heads, IT and Human Resources.

Richard Laube, CEO of Nobel Biocare, said, “I am pleased that Nic Weidmann has accepted this key role within the company. He understands the firm, our customers and is a true professional in this area. We believe we will be able to both create superior activities and do them more efficiently than in the past.”
