Molar Media Mount launches innovative new PPE solution, the HoverShield

An innovative product providing unique protection for dentists adjusting to new PPE guidelines in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic has just been launched by dental equipment company Molar Media Mount, the HoverShield. 

The HoverShield is a clear acrylic shield that mounts to a dentist’s existing dental light via an adjustable arm and is designed to protect the patient, the dentist, and dental staff from the splatter created in the dental chair. It can be easily positioned as needed, depending on the procedure, and can be cleaned with CaviCideä wipes from Metrex between patients.

In cases where dentists or dental staff cannot tolerate individual face shields, or where an extra layer of protection is desired, HoverShield provides a unique solution.   

“This is a very uncertain time we’re living through, and going back to the office as if it’s business as usual just isn’t an option,” says Dr. Casey Culberson, owner of Mill Creek Family Dentistry, HoverShield inventor, and founder of Molar Media Mount. “I wanted to create something that would help protect dentists and their staff and their patients, and hopefully make reopening a little easier and safer for everyone.”

The HoverShield is mounted using the included Molar Media Mount, which can, when not in use with a HoverShield, be used to mount a tablet and stream entertainment or display educational content for patients.
