Glidewell Launches the BruxZir Zirconia Shade Guide

Article

Featuring shade tabs made from BruxZir Zirconia, this new shade guide aims to make it easier to achieve highly esthetic outcomes with the material.

BruxZir Zirconia Shade Guide

Designed to help clinicians and lab technicians achieve more accurate shade matching with BruxZir Zirconia restorations, Glidewell recently launched the BruxZir Zirconia Shade Guide.

To ensure accurate shade measurements, the new shade guide features tabs fabricated from BruxZir Zirconia with the translucency of the BruxZir Esthetic formulation, according to a press release. This material choice makes this a more accurate shade guide for BruxZir restorations when compared with most shade guides that feature porcelain or acrylic tabs that feature different optical characteristics than zirconia.

The BruxZir Zirconia Shade Guide features 8 tabs, with seven tabs—Z2 through Z8—matching up with the most popular shades in the VITA shade system, and the eighth tab being a bleach shade. Each tab features a glazed side and an unglazed side to allow clinicians and technicians to match both final and stump shades with a single tab.
