Dr. Foroud Hakim had plenty of resources available to him when choosing the right digital radiology system for his brand new office nearly a decade ago.

Holding a university teaching position, he had many colleagues as well as an entire radiology department to lean on as he was determined to choose the best fit for his practice.

Besides being active in private practice, Dr. Hakim is also the Vice Chair of the Dept. of Reconstructive Dental Sciences at the University of Pacific.

“My teaching position as well as my relationships with the dental industry that have been developed through podium and CE presence have definitely afforded me the opportunity to be familiar with all the latest that dental technology has to offer. These resources as well as a great design team from my distributor came in very handy when I was choosing the right products and technologies for our new practice in 2004.”

After a lot of research, Dr. Hakim went with Gendex digital x-ray sensors. “Based on the best information and advice, I chose Gendex and since then, we have had one software update and upgraded to the GXS-700 sensors.

What has been the staff response and the results?

“The entire team is really happy with the selection. The performance is excellent while the sensor size and comfort are key elements to patient satisfaction. Diagnostics are also excellent which is attributed to the imaging software integration. Even points that may seem trivial like how well the sensors fit with available barriers, alignment aids and holders make the system very user friendly.”

“Assistants and hygienists really like the system and when you couple that with great images, patient care is bound to improve!”

Is it easy to use and would you recommend to a colleague?

“A real no brainer. It’s very easy to use. You just plug and play and, as long as you have the right software and hardware, you just need to have your x-ray heads on the recommended settings.”

“There is something very magical and gratifying to patients when the magnified image appears in moments after the button is clicked right in front of their eyes on their dedicated monitor. Beyond the very tangible benefit of improved diagnostics, there is the patient’s perception our office is dedicated to providing them care utilizing the latest and best technologies dentistry has to offer.”

“I have colleagues, both experienced and recent grads, visit the office periodically. They all comment on how diagnostic our radiographs are. I attribute this directly to our Gendex sensors and software.”

“My first recommendation would be, you just absolutely must move to digital if you are not already there. When that commitment is made, Gendex is at the top of my list. We did our due diligence and could not be happier with our choice - no reservations!”
