Flight Dental Systems has released its Defender Aerosol Evacuator System, which can help reduce the spread of airborne viruses, the company announced in a press release this week.

The Defender is a high-power suction system that evacuates viruses, bacteria, dust, and aerosols through a three-stage HEPA filtration system that is said to eliminate 99.7 percent of all particulate matter. This matter is then filtered through UV-C disinfection before being exhausted out.

This evacuator features activated carbon and potassium permanganate, a wired controller for speed control and other functions, an adjustable directional duct that is easy to position, and a high-powered suction. It has a max volume of 125CFM with 250W.

The wheeled system measures at 16 x 9 x 19 inches and is 31 pounds, allowing for easy maneuverability around the operatory.
