Training in the Perio Protect Method is now available in a 90-minute express CE training session, said to be ideal for dentists or hygienists who desire quick, researched-based training with significant practical applications.
The Perio Protect Method combines prescription Perio Tray delivery with laser treatments, debridement and scaling, as well as surgery when needed. The Perio Tray offers a seal and extension system designed to administer medication deep into periodontal pockets, holding it in place long enough to have therapeutic effects. Reportedly, the Perio Tray delivery of antimicrobials, along with SRP, produces greater pocket probing depth and bleeding index reductions than SRP by itself.
The initial Perio Protect Express Webinar takes place Tuesday, September 24th from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. CST with dental practitioner Dr. Alan Friedel. Dr. Friedel, who uses Perio Tray delivery in his own practice, will aid dental professionals in identifying ideal patient candidates and outline the steps needed to correctly implement the prescription trays, focusing on the scientific rationales for case selection.
The increased interest in Perio Protect is said to likely result from the addition of a new CDT code for the Perio Tray, effective January 1st, 2014.
