Dentsply Sirona Continues Its Commitment to World Oral Health Day 2024 and Recognizes "Most Original Activity" Award Winners

As a part of the company’s announcement of the continuation of its partnership with FDI World Dental Federation for World Oral Health Day, Dentsply Sirona is honoring the efforts of the Sudanese Association of Dental Students.

Dentsply Sirona recently announced its ongoing partnership with the FDI World Dental Federation for World Oral Health Day (WOHD) in 2024. This collaboration—a part of Dentsply Sirona's BEYOND: Taking action for a brighter world sustainability strategy—aims to empower individuals with the knowledge, tools, and confidence for optimal oral health.

Building on the success of their partnership since 2022, Dentsply Sirona celebrates the achievements of the 2023 WOHD communication campaign, marked by the slogan "Be Proud of Your Mouth." This global campaign engaged audiences through various multi-platform initiatives.

Erania Brackett, Senior Vice-President of Orthodontic Aligner Solutions & Customer Experience, and Head of Sustainability at Dentsply Sirona, appeared via video at the WOHD 2023 ceremony in Sydney, Australia. She reflected on the outcomes of Dentsply Sirona's 2023 campaign and celebrated their sponsorship of the "Most Original Activity" award. During the ceremony, the continued partnership with the FDI World Dental Federation for WOHD 2024 was officially announced.

"Our 2023 mission doesn't end here; every day, all of us at Dentsply Sirona live our vision to transform dentistry and improve oral health globally," she says in a press release from Dentsply Sirona.

Dentsply Sirona's 2023 Communication Campaign, "Be Proud of Your Mouth," received global recognition for its impact and engagement. The campaign involved a comprehensive company-wide communication effort through social media, websites, mailers, and other platforms, highlighting the vital link between oral health and overall well-being. The campaign extended beyond awareness, providing dentists with a downloadable toolkit to educate patients about the connection between oral and general health. Dentsply Sirona's commitment was further demonstrated by distributing more than 400 oral health kits to patients undergoing cleft treatment at Smile Train partner treatment centers in Colombia, Brazil, and Mexico. These kits included toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental timers, floss, educational materials, and personalized "Get well" cards.

As part of the WOHD 2023 campaign, Dentsply Sirona sponsored the "Most Original Activity" award, recognizing outstanding initiatives that creatively promote oral health messages in the public domain. The award assessed participant numbers, external partnerships, innovation, material use, alignment with the WOHD theme, and impact through the dissemination of take-home messages and oral care items.

The prestigious "Most Original Activity" award was presented to The Sudanese Association of Dental Students, specifically, the Prophylaxis Office and the External Relations Office. Their extensive efforts included educational visits to schools, awareness programs at dental hospitals, engagement with local businesses, and educational sessions at universities, reaching approximately 2,000 individuals.
