Dental caries is incredibly common, but small lesions remain difficult to detect. GreenMark Biomedical is soon launching a new technology for detecting caries that is easy for patients and practices to adopt, and provides a visual indicator that is equally simple for clinicians and patients to understand.
In this video GreenMark Biomedical Founder and CEO Steven Bloembergen, PhD explains his company's LumiCare Caries Diagnostic Rinse which uses patented fluorescent sub-micron starch particles that are designed to adhere to early stage carious lesions and are easily visualize using a blue light source, such as from a dental curing light.
