01 Want to put fearful patients at ease? Offer to give them a tour of your practice before their first appointment.

Offering an office tour is one way to make patient’s more comfortable. Let uneasy patients come in and see the practice without the worry of the procedure will entail.

02 Set realistic expectations because you don’t want patients to be disappointed with treatment results.

You want them to walk out of your office happy and singing your praises to family, friends and co-workers. But that won’t happen if you over commit on results. Click here for more reasons to stay realistic.

03 Another presidential election year is over, but in any case it’s still a best practice to avoid talking politics.

These conversations can get heated, and just aren’t appropriate for the dental office. Remind your team members to keep politics out of the conversation and to stick to patient education. It’s not worth the risk of offending that patient. It may be enough to send him or her to the practice down the street.

04 Be curious; continue learning.

If you don’t keep up with new products and technologies that hit the market, you’re doing your practice and your patients a disservice. Do your best to keep up-to-date on the latest products and technologies to make their way onto the scene. Find out what they offer and if they’re right for your practice and your patients.
