01 Want to put fearful patients at ease? Offer to give them a tour of your practice before their first appointment.

02 Set realistic expectations because you don’t want patients to be disappointed with treatment results.

03 Another presidential election year is over, but in any case it’s still a best practice to avoid talking politics.

These conversations can get heated, and just aren’t appropriate for the dental office. Remind your team members to keep politics out of the conversation and to stick to patient education. It’s not worth the risk of offending that patient. It may be enough to send him or her to the practice down the street.

04 Be curious; continue learning.

If you don’t keep up with new products and technologies that hit the market, you’re doing your practice and your patients a disservice.
