3Shape, maker of 3D scanners and CAD/CAM software solutions, will host an event on Sept.13 at 101 James Doolittle Blvd, Long Island, NY from 6:30pm-9:30pm. 3Shape will introduce the TRIOS digital impression solution system to dental professionals in preparation for its release later this year.

3Shape experts will demonstrate the advanced and highly productive capabilities of the 3Shape TRIOS. The events will present dental professionals with the opportunity to experience the TRIOS first hand and learn more how this exceptional technology will be able to help all dental professionals.

Interested parties can find more information and register for events at www.3shapedental.com or by calling 908-867-0144.

Earlier this year at CDA, we talked with Carl Harrocks of 3Shape about the new TRIOS intraoral impression system.

"The TRIOS is a digital impression taking intraoral scanner that is an open system," said Horrocks. "The machine is on a cart with wheels so it's very easy to move around. It's also touchscreen and you can send to any laboratory with the open lab feature."

Featuring Ultrafast Optical Sectioning technology, TRIOS utilizes up to 1,000 3D pictures to create geometries based on real data. The scanner captures over 3,000 2D images per second and does not require dentists to apply spray to coat the patient’s teeth, making scanning fast, accurate and comfortable for patients.

Dentists can preview 3D lab designs on the TRIOS screen, evaluate and agree on margin lines, access virtual diagnostic wax-ups and generally discuss cases with labs and patients when convenient.
