Billed as a new way to put a natural-looking gloss on restorations, 3M ESPE’s Sof-Lex Spiral finishing and polishing wheels provide dentists with a more versatile and easy-to-use alternative to traditional points, cups, discs, and brushes.

Billed as a new way to put a natural-looking gloss on restorations, 3M ESPE’s Sof-Lex Spiral finishing and polishing wheels provide dentists with a more versatile and easy-to-use alternative to traditional points, cups, discs, and brushes.

Incorporating flexible spiral “fingers,” the finishing and polishing wheels conform to convex and concave surfaces as they traverse the restoration, preventing the need to switch shapes in mid-procedure to fit different contours.

Additionally, 3M ESPE has embedded the wheels with abrasive particles that provide effective dental finishing from any side – top, bottom or edge.

Operating under a two-step system, the Sof-Lex Spiral finishing and polishing Wheels first lets dentists remove minor scratches and prepare restoration surfaces for high-gloss polishing. Then, once this is achieved, the polishing wheel is used to create a smooth, natural-looking, high-gloss surface.

Ideal for use with 3M nano-composites, resin-modified glass ionomers, bisacrylic temporary materials, and precious or semi-precious metals, the Sof-Lex wheels reportedly offer a comprehensive system for contouring, finishing, and high-gloss polishing.

3M ESPE markets more than 2,000 dental products and services designed to aid dentists and dental professionals in improving their patients’ oral health care.  For more information on the Sof-Lex Spiral Finishing and Polishing Wheels, or to view a complete product list, head to 3M ESPE’s website at www.3MESPE.com
