Ultradent has announced that it is now distributing the OsteoGen® Plug, a dental bone grafting plug from Impladent.

The OsteoGen Plus is a dental bone grafting plug combining non-ceramic bioactive resorbable calcium apatite crystals with Type I bovine achilles tendon collagen matrix. Calcium apatite crystals create bone-like structure. It is resorbable so as to be easily replaced by host bone tissue within months, according to a press release from Ultradent. While radiolucent when placed, the OsteoGen plug becomes radiopaque within 3-5 months after replacement. After this process the implant can then be placed.

Ultradent develops and manufactures a variety of dental materials, devices, and instruments. The OsteoGen Plus is manufactured by Impladent in Jamaica, New York.
