Ultradent's Umbrella soft tissue retractor

Ultradent Products, Inc. has announced the release of the Umbrella™ soft tissue retractor, the company announced in a press release.

The Umbrella retractor is designed for ease of placement and patient comfort. To use the retractor, a clinician presses the 2 tabs together, places it in the patient’s mouth, and it pops open. The Umbrella is said to help a patient’s mouth stay open in a natural range while still allowing the patient to remain comfortable and open or close their mouth as needed. The retractor also opens the space between the teeth, lips, and cheeks to help saliva accumulate away from dentition and improve access for HVE.

The Umbrella retractor also features a tongue guard that is designed to give clinicians great access and gives the tongue a place to settle. The tongue is gently raised to the roof of the mouth, which allows the patient to easily swallow.

The Umbrella retractor works for a number of indications, including Class II restorations, sealants, ortho bonding, and whitening.
