Implant Protect Kit

Acteon North America

The Implant Protect Kit is designed to provide reliable and complete implant debridement for the surgical and nonsurgical treatment of peri-implantitis. Manufactured from pure titanium, Implant Protect tips reportedly preserve the implant surface. The mechanical action of titanium is said to avoid the transfer of material on the implant and limits the alteration of the surface, reducing the risk of bacterial recontamination. Implant Protect tips are compatible with the full range of PURE NEWTRON piezoelectric ultrasonic devices from ACTEON North America.

COLTENE’s newest innovation to its prosthetics product line, AFFINIS® heavy body BLACK EDITION, was featured on the cover of DPR in August. The black tray material AFFINIS® heavy body BLACK EDITION is said to provide excellent readability of impressions when used with gold- or silver-colored AFFINIS®PRECIOUS. The unique color combination is designed to display details even more precisely and supports qualitative assessment of the impression result. AFFINIS® heavy body BLACK EDITION is indicated for one-step impressions, two-step impressions, functional impressions, fixation impressions and all other indications where regular AFFINIS heavy body is used. The unique silver and gold pigmentation drastically reduces the light scattering effect, thus improving the visual perception of details. AFFINIS® heavy body BLACK EDITION is especially recommended if precision and excellent readability is needed.

Calibra® Universal

Dentists can now benefit from the swiftness of tack curing without the stress of overcuring. New Calibra® Universal from DENTSPLY Caulk offers a wide tack cure window of up to 10 seconds and an extended 45-second gel phase, which is said to provide dentists the ability for a more thorough and effective cleanup. The material also is formulated to deliver optimal strength and esthetics.

Embrace Varnish

Pulpdent Corporation’s Embrace Varnish, 5 percent sodium fluoride with CXP, is now available in economical 12 mL tubes. By incorporating xylitol-coated calcium and phosphate in a permeable resin matrix that does not separate and requires no mixing, Pulpdent developed a sustained, time-release bioactive varnish with predictable, uniform dosage that reportedly delivers 10 times more fluoride than the leading varnish brand in four hours. The xylitol coating prevents the calcium and phosphate salts from reacting until they come in contact with saliva. Then the calcium and phosphate ions react continuously in saliva with fluoride ions to form protective fluorapatite on the teeth that fills superficial, noncarious enamel lesions (white spots).
