Today Straumann® released the CARES® Visual 8.8 software update with new prosthetic options. Included in this launch are the new Straumann® CARES® Milled Bar and Straumann® CARES® Basic Fixed Bar.

These bars are available to US customers and reportedly offer ideal restorations for fully edentulous patients, providing individual customization and treatment flexibility.

The Straumann® CARES® Milled Bar delivers a one-piece solution milled to your specification and is delivered polished. The bar features M2 standard threads for anchors or other attachments and can be designed with a gingiva contoured basal surface.

The Straumann® CARES® Basic Fixed Bar is designed to be a cost effective alternative to a ceramic veneered bridge and an ideal fixed solution for ongoing tissue management. CARES® Basic Fixed Bar arrives with a sandblasted surface to save the technician bench time and is ready to be wrapped in acrylic by the lab.

These bar designs offer your choice of original Straumann implant or abutment level connections. Both new bars are available for Straumann’s RN, WN, RC and NC platforms and can be ordered by both Straumann CARES and Dental Wings laboratories in the US with access to Straumann’s milling facility.

Steve Sheehan, Vice President of Straumann’s Lab Division North America, commented: “Today’s patient is researching their options and has access to comprehensive implant treatment information through the web. They have high expectations of their dentists in terms of esthetics and lower costs. Restorative doctors then place these demands on their lab partners. We are very pleased to address our customers’ needs with new bar designs and additional fixed edentulous solutions that will give labs the opportunity to provide economical, efficient and high quality solutions.”
