SmileDirectClub's Telehealth Platform Wins MedTech Breakthrough Award
The awards recognize innovative digital health and medical technology companies, products, and services.
SmileDirectClub has been selected as the winner of the “Best TeleHealth Platform” award during the annual MedTech Breakthrough Awards.
SmileDirectClub’s telehealth platform connects patients with the company’s network of dental professionals, allowing them to track patient progress remotely through video chat.
“We are proud of the telehealth platform we have built and are honored to be recognized by MedTech Breakthrough for our leadership in the rapidly growing telehealth space,” David Katzman, Chairman and CEO of SmileDirectClub said in a statement from the company. “Our telehealth platform has served as the foundation of our innovative business model, removing cost and access barriers to teeth straightening and powering doctor-prescribed and monitored remote treatment. The awards are hosted by MedTech Breakthrough, an independent market intelligence organization. The awards recognize innovative digital health and medical technology companies, products, and services worldwide. The awards breakdown into several categories, including clinical and health administration; patient engagement; medical devices; and mobile communications and telehealth. Nominees are judged based on a variety of criteria including innovation, performance, ease of use, functionality, value, and impact.
