Rapid Shape’s D30+ ortho is the latest printer to be validated by Carestream Dental. With it, practices can design and print clear aligners in-office when combined with CS Model+ v5 software.

Users of a CS 3600 or CS 3700 intraoral scanner can offer their patients a convenient and easier way to offer chairside aligners, according to a press release from Carestream Dental. The process involves using CS Model+ v5 software, and the D30+ ortho printer to design and then produce clear aligners.

After capturing a scan, the CS Model+ v5 uses artificial intelligence to automate the design process. When the case is designed, it can then be sent to the D30+ ortho. The printer can then produce validated ortho models and individual trays.
