The Pride Institute's "Best of Class" Technology Awards represent an initiative to promote innovation in new and existing dental technology companies, providing a means through which the organization can educate those in the dental profession to use technology more effectively.

This year's honorees span a wide range of categories and uses, from the business-oriented to the clinical, such as the Excellerator from Propel Orthodontics.

The Excellerator is a patented medical device specifically designed to create Micro-Osteoperforations (MOPs) using a disposable driver with a stainless steel edge that is sterile to ensure patient safety. A New York University clinical study published in the November 2013 issue of the American Journal of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics stated “Micro-Osteoperforation to be an effective, comfortable and safe procedure to accelerate tooth movement and significantly reduce the duration of orthodontic treatment. Micro-osteoperforations performed during orthodontic treatment demonstrated a 2.3 fold increase in the rate of tooth movement.”
