The Pride Institute's "Best of Class" Technology Awards represent an initiative to promote innovation in new and existing dental technology companies, providing a means through which the organization can educate those in the dental profession to use technology more effectively.

This year's honorees span a wide range of categories and uses, from the business-oriented to the clinical, such as the iOptima from Bien-Air.

The iOptima is designed to allow practitioners to transform a pneumatic handpiece system to a modern electric unit that is equipped with a brushless and sensorless micromotor, as well as an iPod touch interface from Apple®. The ergonomic, intuitive interface offers numerous pre-programmed options and is designed to meet the needs of all practitioners in any situation. Plus, auto-reverse and auto-forward functions allow for safe endodontic treatments, and the iOptima comes with the Bien-Air Micro-Series contra-angle and MX2 LED Micromotor, which significantly reduces the effort required to use the instrument.
