The goal of the STEM program is to expose children in local communities to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math as they are applied in the workplace.

This past Saturday, the Pelton & Crane team engaged 20 children in a two-hour event focused on how STEM topics are essential in the engineering of dental chairs and delivery systems. The children toured the show room, factory and R&D test lab. The last hour of the event was designed as a hands-on experience for the kids, designing catapults and testing them for accuracy and distance.

“This is exactly the type of event that exemplifies the character of KaVo Kerr Group associates. Christina Nunez-Cooley, Greg Jung, Patrick Schultheis, Steven Bohon and Michael Bickers deserve a special thanks for their diligent work in preparing for this event and giving of their time to present on Saturday,” said Matt Garrett, Global Vice President of Marketing, Dental Technologies. “The people who develop KaVo Kerr Group innovations make STEM interesting and exciting in real-world applications, and the dental professionals we serve also have a love of science. If we can do our part to encourage STEM interests in a new generation, that’s a win-win.”
