Oral Essentials debuts new certified non-toxic whitening strips

Article

The new whitening strips have a patent-pending formula of natural ingredients.

Oral Essentials has introduced its new Dead Sea salt-based whitening strips that offer consumers a better way to achieve whiter teeth, with visible results in as little as 30 minutes.

Unlike whitening strips that cause sensitivity over time by using harsh chemicals like hydrogen peroxide or baking soda, Oral Essentials Whitening Strips utilize a patent-pending formulation of coconut oil, lemon peel oil and sage oil to whiten teeth without sensitivity, combined with Dead Sea salt, which contains beneficial minerals (calcium, phosphate, manganese). Ultra enamel-friendly, the whitening strips are reportedly the first in the industry to be clinically tested for use on porcelain crowns, veneers and composite restorations.

“We’re excited to bring to market this revolutionary formula that we know will be effective and also more comfortable for consumers,” said the brand’s Chief Operating Officer Caroline Heerwagen. “As a brand, we’re on a very dedicated mission to provide a more natural alternative to the oral care products people use daily.”

The strips are also the first on the market to boast a non-toxic certification and have been clinically tested to prove efficacy. A recent study that took place at the University of California’s Beckman Laser Institute evaluated the enamel whitening effects of Oral Essentials Whitening Strips and another leading brand’s whitening strip. Overall, the whitening performance of the Oral Essentials whitening strip and leading brand whitening strips showed similar whitening effects, even though Oral Essentials did not contain peroxide.

"I’m very proud of the clinical tests we’ve completed,” said Oral Essentials co-founder and Beverly Hills-based cosmetic dentist Dr. Kourosh Maddahi, DDS. “I actually never set out to create a product line; my goal has always been to make sure my patients are getting the best possible care. But once I discovered the power of Dead Sea salt and these other natural ingredients, I felt compelled to create something that could extend beyond my patients.”

Oral Essentials Whitening Strips are packaged in boxes of 28 strips or 14 treatments for $43.99, and will also be sold as individual strips for one-time use for $2.99. The products are available for purchase on OralEssentials.com and Amazon.com, and will be available health stores nationwide starting October 1, 2017.
