New Primescan and CEREC Primemill Software Enhancements Announced

New upgrades and enhancements for the Connect and CEREC Software and the Primescan have been announced by Dentsply Sirona. These upgrades were designed to make software and firmware more efficient and streamlined to digital workflows, according to a press release from Dentsply Sirona.

Primescan, the intraoral scanner, has new enhancements that are said to improve performance. It can capture 1.5 million 3D data points to create an optimized scanning experience for all users, both experienced and relatively new users.

The upgrades to the CEREC Software 5.2 are designed to make the interface more user-friendly and a fast-milling mode designed for IPS e.max CAD crowns. There is also an extra fine grinding mode that can now be used for posterior and anterior crowns, direct screw-retained crowns, inlays, and veneers. Articulation calculation can be performed now with the “Full Range Dynamic Occlusion” mode. This mode can also offer a wider range of view .

Primescan has now been validated for full digital workflows, said to be 1 of the first only fully-validated intraoral scanners for full arch fixed implant restorations with Atlantis suprastructures. Also, Primescan can now perform primary impression taking with the Digital Denture workflow for customized impression trays.

Finally, the Connect software has received enhanced upgrades for improved implant workflows. Dentists will now be able to perform long span implant supported bridges. Dr Alexander Voelcker is the Group Vice President of Global Digital Solutions Marketing at Dentsply Sirona. He said in a press release that this will truly change digital workflows.

“In addition to significantly increased speed, the smoothness of the scan has also been improved,” Voelcker said in the press release. “For clinicians working with Primescan in their practice, these improvements regularly mean more efficient workflows, even greater reliability, and, at the same time, a very comfortable patient experience.”
