Komet USA has introduced two new bur shapes to their Deep Purple™ Diamond

line and the newest solution for debonding, Smoozies. Both of these products will address crown preparation procedures and efficient treatment flow for glue removal, Komet said in a press release.

The new Deep Purple parallel chamfer shaped diamonds will be available in two sizes, 014 and 016, which are extra course to allow for optimal substance removal and maximum operator control when prepping for crown procedures, the statement said. The new designs also have embedded diamond grains and large chip spaces for reliable performance.

Komet’s new Smoozie kit was created to help remove adhesive from start to finish. It includes a carbide adhesive and rubber adhesive erasers in a flame or cup shape. These products are included in the new Smoozie set, 4694, which also comes with four carbides and four erasers in a plastic bur block. The Smoozies are said to offer a fast-cutting but gentle adhesive removal process, which leaves the teeth clean with no marks on the enamel, Komet said.
