Article

The new scanner has been designed specifically for dental laboratories with high volume throughputs and is said to offer a more efficient workflow.

PrograScan PS7

Ivoclar has introduced the latest addition to its PrograScan® line, the PrograScan PS7. The PS7 is designed to simultaneously scan upper and lower jaw models in just 10 seconds, fully automated, and in 1 process, according to a press release from the company.

The new scanner has been designed specifically for dental laboratories with high volume throughputs. The PS7 is said to offer dental technicians a more efficient workflow with minimal interaction required from them.

Equipped with 2 scan tables, 2 optical light units, and 8 cameras, the PrograScan PS7 allows scan jobs to be started with just 1 click. The pure scan time for 2 models is 10 seconds with an accuracy of 5 μm. The scanner is designed to detect any accessories and it only takes 2 minutes for the digital models to be ready in the design software for further processing. The PS7 is designed to integrate with all digital Ivoclar workflows, according to the company’s statement.

“We are very pleased to have once more taken a lead in shaping the digital dental world,” says Tobias Specht, senior director GBU Labside at Ivoclar. “With its simultaneous scan function, the new PrograScan PS7 provides a forward-thinking solution to meet the rising demands in everyday laboratory practice.”

The PrograScan PS7 can now be pre-ordered and is scheduled to be available from dental dealers in June 2023.
