our goal is to be totally paperless by 2012, and to get that accomplished we knew we needed to convert to digital x-rays. XLDent was able to provide the digital x-rays and other things we needed to benefit our practice. They’ve been wonderful in helping us get to where we want to be. We’re not 100% paperless yet as we still use paper charts on a minimal basis, but otherwise we’re pretty much all the way there.

our goal is to be totally paperless by 2012, and to get that accomplished we knew we needed to convert to digital x-rays. XLDent was able to provide the digital x-rays and other things we needed to benefit our practice. They’ve been wonderful in helping us get to where we want to be. We’re not 100% paperless yet as we still use paper charts on a minimal basis, but otherwise we’re pretty much all the way there. We’ve been using XLDent since May 2006, after transitioning from the system the company offered when they were PEB.

What do you like most about the XLDent suite?
It’s very good for patient education. The system allows us to highlight the oral condition and explain the proposed treatment to the patient. Patients can actually see their own images on a screen in front of them, which not only increases case acceptance but helps patients understand recommended treatment. It also provides validation for the patient and creates a better doctor/patient relationship. Our goal is to provide great service, outstanding dental care and to educate our patients along the way.

We also are extremely satisfied with the support we get from the company itself. We’ve had a few glitches over the years, and any time we need something we call them and they walk us through it on the phone. If they are unable to give us a solution over the phone, then we can count on them to be onsite quickly-a benefit of using a local company. It’s also easy to use the system. Whenever we change or add a new benefit, the company is good about coming out and training the staff and making sure we all understand it before we proceed. That is a real plus for us and can be a benefit for the patient.

Why would you encourage other dentists to use this system instead of one of its competitors?
No. 1 the ease of using the system is paramount. If you can’t understand or get through it you’re not going to use it. No. 2, the support they give you as far as education. If you have a problem or a question the company is there to assist you so you can proceed and do things correctly. No. 3, the simplicity and the tools incorporated within the software enable you to educate your patients and help them visualize treatment. For example, if a patient is having a root canal, you can educate them on the monitor through this system; you don’t need any other patient education software. It’s very inclusive and we just love it. We just think it’s a good system. I would highly recommend this system to other dentists. We like what it is and like what it does and we stand behind it. I would recommend this program for any dental practice.
