InnSoft introduces Ortho Share 3D software

Article

The software is an easy-to-use tool for importing, managing and sharing patient records.

Ortho Share 3D™ software is a highly automated yet easy-to-use tool for importing, managing and sharing patient records (especially photos, X-rays and 3D models of dentition) in a searchable database. Its compatibility with a variety of software makes Ortho Share 3D™ a very practical and easy gateway for offering aligners and/or precision bracket placement as treatment options. The ability to share records with patients, coordinating doctors, labs and insurance companies can improve communication and treatment as well as promote referrals. Robust yet easy and convenient to use, the software isn't complicated by extra features that many users don’t need.

Ortho Share 3D is a multi-functional tool to help orthodontists and dentists in the following areas:

Data organizer: Ortho Share 3D™ is designed for importing, storing in individual patient folders, organizing, editing, displaying and exporting 2D and 3D data. Photos are easy to rotate, zoom/crop, align, organize and view in ABO format as well as user-defined layouts. Along with photos, Ortho Share 3D™ is designed to store 2D and 3D data such as X-rays (panoramic, periapical, lateral ceph and PA ceph), intraoral scans, 3D dental model scans, 3D facial scans, treatment plans, letters and exam forms. Ortho Share 3D™ can be especially helpful for dental offices that are new participants in offering orthodontic treatment since they typically don't have software for importing and managing the usual array of orthodontic records in one central location.

Treatment planning aid: Nearly unlimited cephalometric and model analyses can be displayed to facilitate fine-tuning of treatment plans. The tooth movement controls in Ortho Share 3D™ are said to enable doctors to adjust treatment plans and to recalculate tooth movement if needed. The heat map option is helpful for checking occlusion.

Discussion facilitator: Ortho Share 3D™ is useful for communication of 3D and 2D data in a variety of situations. In addition to viewing during appointments, files can be encrypted and then transferred over SFTP (secure file transfer protocol). Ortho Share 3D™ will allow digital records submission directly from doctors to insurance companies for claim submissions.

In the same way, doctors can easily share appropriate data with patients, with labs and other digital services companies, and with referring and consulting doctors such as orthodontists, general dentists, oral surgeons and related specialists. Sharing data among doctors can be beneficial for evaluating treatment progress, building up professional relationships and encouraging referrals.

Patients can view their records at home, at work or in the doctor’s office. The slideshow feature displays the records for easy viewing during patient consultations. The treatment simulation feature plays a movie progressing from pre- to post-treatment tooth positions. Seeing the proposed treatment can increase a patient’s confidence and readiness to start treatment. Patients who choose to receive their records digitally can help to increase the volume of cases for their doctors by showing their images to family and friends who in turn can become enthusiastic new patients who also make referrals.
