Dentsply Sirona’s DS OmniTaper Implant System to be Introduced at AO Annual Meeting

Dentsply Sirona is introducing its DS OmniTaper Implant System®—the newest member of the EV Implant Family, alongside the Astra Tech Implant System and the DS PrimeTaper Implant System®—at this week’s Academy of Osseointegration (AO) Annual Meeting. A full US launch is set for May 1.

First announced in September 2022 at the EAO Congress in Geneva, Switzerland, the DS OmniTaper Implant System combines proven technologies with new innovations for implant treatment in virtually all clinical situations. Unique to the implant system is an intuitive drilling protocol for reduced chair time and a pre-mounted TempBase for immediate restorations and efficient workflows.

The EV Implant Family offers surgical flexibility to cover virtually every indication. All 3 implant systems deliver biologically driven implant designs for natural esthetics and lasting bone care, have 1 connection for restorative clarity, and are optimized for a seamless fit with digital dentistry workflows.

Like the rest of the EV Implant Family, the DS OmniTaper Implant System has a conical EV connection that provides access to the harmonized and comprehensive EV prosthetic portfolio for restorative flexibility and immediate chairside solutions. The OsseoSpeed® implant surface stimulates early bone healing and speeds up the healing process, for increased bone formation and stronger bone-to-implant bonding.

“We are driven to deliver world-class products and excited to present the newest member of the EV family.” says Tony Susino, Group Vice President Global Implant Solutions at Dentsply Sirona. “OmniTaper EV is a traditionally tapered implant and partnered with the parallel walled Astra Tech Implant EV and the fully tapered PrimeTaper EV, the EV family offers solutions for virtually all clinical indications. Whichever implant design is chosen, a clinician can be assured of the same conical EV connection which allows them to limit their inventories with 1 prosthetic system optimized for digital dentistry.”

The DS OmniTaper Implant System will be available for demo at the Dentsply Sirona booth # 313 during the 2023 AO Annual Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona, from March 16-18. Visitors will be able to learn more about the newest member of the EV Implant Family, the latest clinical innovations in dentistry, and gain first-hand insights from clinicians on the EV Implant Family, says Dentsply Sirona.

Engaging Sessions with Implant Leaders
The AO Annual Meeting brings together dental professionals from around the world for 3 days of scientific presentations, hands-on training, commercial exhibits, and networking opportunities.

Dentsply Sirona will host a full morning of Inspiration TALKS on March 16, in room 124 A/B with an international group of experts during the AO Corporate Forum. The sessions will focus on achieving clinical success and long-lasting patient satisfaction by combining outstanding clinical skills with the latest digital technology:

  • Clinical innovations and seamless workflow: optimizing implant outcomes for each patient – Dr. Michael Norton (UK), Dr. Anthony Bendkowski (UK), Dr. Farhad Boltchi (US), and Dr. Stefan Vandeweghe (BE)
  • Implant solutions, workflows, and technology: how design and function meet the challenges of the 21st century – panel discussion with Dr. Michael Norton (UK), Dr. Anthony Bendkowski (UK), Dr. Farhad Boltchi (US), Dr. Mark Ludlow (US), and Dr. Stefan Vandeweghe (BE)
  • The future starts now: utilizing technology and seamless workflows to achieve clinical excellence – Dr. Mark Ludlow (US)
  • Minimally invasive therapy in ridge augmentation – Dr. Alberto Monje (ES)

“There have been considerable advances in dental implantology that have really helped to optimize treatment outcomes in recent years,” says Dr. Anthony Bendkowski, oral surgeon from the United Kingdom. “Clinicians are now able to use a fully digital workflow together with the new DS OmniTaper System, to provide patients with excellent results and increase practice efficiency.”
