Dentsply Sirona and Kuraray Noritake Dental conclude material partnership for CAD/CAM blocks

Article

The partnership opens up new avenues for dental practices and laboratories.

Dentsply Sirona Inc. and Kuraray Noritake Dental Inc. have concluded a material partnership for CAD/CAM blocks. The market and innovation leader for dental CAD/CAM systems, Dentsply Sirona, is said to be expanding its range of high-quality and validated materials for dentists and dental laboratories through this partnership with Kuraray Noritake Dental.

“As a material manufacturer, Kuraray Noritake Dental is globally recognized for their quality and esthetics. We are delighted to bring their expertise and quality into our CEREC and inLab customer’s hands,” says Roddy MacLeod, group vice president CAD/CAM Systems at Dentsply Sirona.

"This valuable partnership enables Kuraray Noritake Dental and Dentsply Sirona to respond even more efficiently to the demands of contemporary CAD/CAM technology," adds Kiyoyuki Arikawa, president of Kuraray Noritake Dental.

Wider range for chairside restoration with composites

Japanese dentists will reportedly benefit by the new partnership from the integration of an additional composite resin block. The CAD/CAM block “Katana Avencia” from Kuraray Noritake Dental, rounding off the current range of available blocks, is designed to enhance the choice of dentists to complete treatment with the desired success in one session.

Layered zirconia for CAD/CAM manufacturing in the laboratory

Based on this partnership, Dentsply Sirona will reportedly offer professional dental laboratories dedicated and optimized milling strategies for the multi-layered zirconia discs of Kuraray Noritake Dental. The Japanese material producer has major expertise in the laboratory market and launched with "Katana Zirconia" worldwide a selection of multi-layered zirconia discs said to satisfy the highest aesthetic requirements. The discs are engineered to be made with different layers depicting the natural structure of a tooth by combining a high-chromatic dentine core and an overlying translucent enamel layer.

Due to this newly concluded partnership, Kuraray Noritake Dental and Dentsply Sirona can reportedly satisfy their common customers' wish for greater diversity and quality that both dentistry and dental technology place on CAD/CAM technology even more effectively.
