Dentsply Sirona adds to Astra Tech Implant System

Article

Dentsply Sirona Implants announced an addition to its Astra Tech Implant System - the Astra Tech Implant EV.

Dentsply Sirona Implants announced an addition to its Astra Tech Implant System - the Astra Tech Implant EV. With a revised design, the EV comes with a deeper implant thread design apically, making it easier to reach preferred primary stability, Dentsply Sirona said in a press release. The handling experience has been upgraded for easy installation, the statement said.

“You still have all the wonderful properties of TX and EV, but with this new implant, you get better handling that helps hit that primary stability-it literally just sinks into the osteotomy, said Dr. Mark Ludlow, Division Director of Implant Prosthodontics and Associate Professor at the College of Dental Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina.

“We’re all about providing long-term functional and esthetic solutions for the many different situations that happen in clinics and laboratories every day all over the world. And we help dental professionals deliver the absolute best care for their patients,” said Gene Dorff, Group Vice President at Dentsply Sirona Implants.

With this change comes a new name - the Astra Tech Implant EV, which will be available in North America beginning this month and in the European market early next year.

Beginning more than 30 years ago, the Astra Tech Implant System has demonstrated its surgical and prosthetic flexibility in over 1,000 published scientific references in peer-reviewed journals, Dentsply Sirona said in their statement.

Dentsply Sirona develops and manufactures a complete line of dental and oral products, including general dental supplies and devices, CAD/CAM restoration systems, restorative products, imaging systems, handpieces and specialty products like orthodontics, endodontics, and implants. Founded more than a century ago in 1899, Dentsply Sirona also maintains Dentsply Sirona Academy, which educates about 400,000 dental professionals every year.
