Late last year DenMat holdings was purchased by a group of former Discus executives, and now it seems CEO Steve Semmelmayer and his team are bringing some familiar products brands along with them. DenMat recently announced the purchase of Discus' restoratives and impressions product portfolios from parent company Royal Philips Electronics. The move adds impression, tray and related product lines along with temporary materials and curing lights to DenMat's core products which include LUMINEERS brand veneers and Snap-On Smile appliances.
The shift in products certainly signals DenMat's desire to broaden it's product portfolio while remaining focused on the restorative side of dentistry. It also shows that the company's new leadership is not wasting any time moving forward with a new plan for DenMat. The move also makes sense for Philips which has been paring down its Discus acquisition to focus on the products such as Zoom Whitening that most closely line up with the company's consumer facing homecare and cosmetic offerings.
