Chicago Dental Society Honors Dr Keith Suchy and Karen Davis at Midwinter Meeting

The Chicago Dental Society (CDS) awarded Keith Suchy, DDS, and Karen Davis, RDH, for their contributions to the profession during the Chicago Midwinter Meeting. Dr Suchy was awarded with the Chicago Dental Society Foundation Vision Award while Davis was awarded with the Gordon J. Christensen Lecturer Recognition Award. These awards are meant to recognize both professionals’ commitment to oral health through research, volunteer work, and philanthropic services, according to 2023 CDS President Dr Michael Durbin.

“We are thrilled to celebrate the achievements of Dr Keith Suchy and Karen Davis and recognize the contributions they have made to driving dentistry forward,” Dr Durbin says in a press release from CDS. “Their work toward improving, advocating for, and representing the field of dentistry has left an indelible mark on the future of the profession and the health of the public it serves. These awards are only a small testament to the accomplished careers and lasting impact these 2 individuals have left on their colleagues, peers, and patients.”

Previously a CDS President in 2004, Dr Suchy has held a variety of leadership positions and helped launch the CDS Foundation Dental Clinic in Wheaton, Illinois, which provides care to those in need. For this, he has been awarded the CDS Foundation Vision Award.

Davis has more than 35 years of experience as a dental hygienist as well as being a business owner, author, and lecturer. Davis has unique insight on a plethora of relevant challenges for dental professionals today and uses this insight to guide hygienists in providing the best oral health care. She has been awarded the Gordon J. Christensen Lecturer Recognition Award.

Both winners were recognized during the General Session at the 158th Midwinter Meeting.
