Carestream Dental adds to its CS 8100 family

The new Evo Editions are compact panoramic and CBCT systems with advanced software updates.

Carestream Dental has introduced two additions to its CS 8100 imaging platform, The Evo Editions, the company announced yesterday. The new Evo Editions are compact panoramic and CBCT versions of the system CS 8100 system, now with advanced software updates that provide enhanced images and new tools.

“We’ve found that data is what makes the difference when diagnosing,” said Ed Shellard, DMD, chief dental officer, Carestream Dental. “By focusing on new software and improved algorithms, we can deliver impactful updates to doctors without having to completely redesign equipment or ask doctors to invest in a new extraoral system every few years.”

For panoramic images, the CS 8100 Family Edition, which includes the CS 8100 Evo and CS 8100SC Evo Editions, introduces new software updates that produce enhanced images thanks to Tomosharp technology. This new update also provides greater tolerance for imperfect positioning. The entire jaw anatomy is captured in a single acquisition. Then, algorithms analyze the area where the anatomy is sharpest and reconstruct the best possible panoramic image automatically. Additionally, the CS Adapt Anatomic family of filters deliver a brand-new processing engine for outstanding panoramic and cephalometric images.

For 3D imaging, the 3D Family Evo Edition, which includes both the CS 8100 3D Evo Edition and the CS 8100SC 3D Evo Edition, gives doctors access to the same features from Carestream Dental’s flagship CS 9600 CBCT system. Both 3D editions feature the same Tomosharp technology and CS Adapt Anatomic filters. In addition, CS MAR is designed to reduce metal artifacts and starburst effects that can be distracting and make it difficult to view an area of interest. Clinicians can even us a live comparison tool to toggle back and forth between views without CS MAR to help them confirm a diagnosis.

The all-new Advanced Noise Reduction (ANR) feature reduces noise while preserving image details. This feature is ideal of 75-micron resolution scans and improves small details.
