BOC Winners in Practice: MouthWatch's TeleDent
Dr. Paul Labbe shares his experience using MouthWatch's Teledent software, which recently won a Cellerant Best of Class Technology Award.
DPR: Tell us a bit about you and your practice.
Dr. Labbe: Planet Dental and Orthodontics is a 5-location dental group in Laredo, Texas. Our group is dentist-owned and operated and came about from 2 dentists who enjoy serving the community through outreach, education, and evidence-based dentistry.
DPR: How did you hear about TeleDent?
Dr. Labbe: We first learned about TeleDent after purchasing MouthWatch cameras for our offices. The TeleDent software was a huge breakthrough in technology for us to have HIPPA compliant record intake outside of our dental office.
DPR: What made you start using TeleDent in your practice?
Dr. Labbe: Our dental group gives back to the community through oral health outreach. We are able to do intraoral screenings outside our offices at schools for children who may have missed dental appointments or who have not seen a dentist due to other circumstances.
DPR: What has it been like using TeleDent?
Dr. Labbe: TeleDent has revolutionized our patient interaction outside of the office and has been a real gamechanger during the pandemic. The software gets consistent updates and is very user-friendly. Our team loves it!
DPR: How has using TeleDent benefited your practice and your patients?
Dr. Labbe: TeleDent has allowed us to provide virtual dental exams to patients and prospective patients by allowing our dentists to communicate with them before they arrive at our office. It has greatly improved our workflow.
