Dr. Dennis Dobrin tells us about his experience with BruxRelief.

DPR: Tell us a bit about you and your practice?

Dr. Dobrin: I’ve been a been a general dentist since 2001, after graduating from the University of Illinois-Chicago. I work in a group practice of 5 general dentists in the northern suburbs of Chicago.

DPR: How did you learn about BruxRelief?

Dr. Dobrin: I believe I first learned about BruxRelief when it was mentioned in a Facebook group discussing bruxism.

DPR: What made you invest in BruxRelief for your practice?

Dr. Dobrin: The BruxRelief concept immediately appealed to me. All day long I am noticing the destruction of bruxism in my patients, and I often ask patients, “Are you aware of the wearing down of your teeth, and any potential nighttime or daytime clenching or grinding that is causing it?” In my experience, most patients tell me they are unaware of any nighttime bruxism, and are often skeptical when I explain the destruction that is happening in their mouth. I feel many patients are just thinking, “Ok this guy is just trying to ‘sell’ me an expensive appliance that I don’t need and I’ll never wear.” And if I were a patient, I might feel the same way too. But now, with BruxRelief, I can recommend an assessment with the device and easily show them the data that proves whether or not they are clenching and grinding their teeth. And now, I’m not ‘selling’ them anything, the data doesn’t lie. Or, they’re not clenching their teeth and we need to look at other possible causes for the destruction.

DPR: What has your experience using BruxRelief been like, and how has it been most useful to your practice?

Dr. Dobrin: Because of COVID-19, we are just getting back into the swing of a full schedule, and I’m seeing even more destruction of teeth from bruxism. I believe the stress everybody is under is causing increases in bruxism. The need for the BruxRelief device and app is greater now more than ever, and this will hopefully allow us to catch problems before they become catastrophic.

DPR: How has using BruxRelief benefited your practice and your patients?

Dr. Dobrin: I have often told my wife that I can hear her clenching her teeth throughout the night. Not coincidentally, she often wakes up with a headache. I made her wear the BruxRelief device for a night, and what do you know, her bruxism events were off the charts. Now she finally believes me, we made her an appropriate sleep device, and she’s feeling much better. I’m hoping the BruxRelief device will allow me to help many more people as it did for my wife.
