Apex Dental releases RE-GEN line

Apex Dental Materials has introduced RE-GEN, a line of bioactive materials comprised of a Flowable Composite, Bulk Fill & Resin Cement, Pit & Fissure Sealant, and what is reportedly the world’s first Bioactive Universal and Self-Etch Adhesives.

The blend of ingredients in RE-GEN products is said to provide a restoration that is osteogenic, antimicrobial, biocompatible, and BPA Free, Apex said in a statement. RE-GEN uses Bioglass as an active ingredient, which is backed by over 50 years of medical use and scientific research. Bioglass is said to form a hydroxyapatite-like surface layer after being in contact with tooth and biological fluids, therefore promoting a regenerative process and a stable, long-term restoration.

RE-GEN products are designed to solve the problems with current bioactive materials’ limitations in their ability to provide the functional ions to the compromised tooth because the tooth has been sealed with an adhesive, Apex said. RE-GEN does this by providing the regenerative ions directly at the tooth surface.
