WHERE

Every dental practice looking for high-quality digital x-rays from a durable, economical system.

WHEN

Most dental practices today use digital radiography and having an efficient, reliable sensor enables clinicians to take advantage of the technology on a daily basis.

WHY

Said to combine the speed of CMOS with the clarity of PSP radiographs, the Acuity Direct X-Ray Photon Detection (DXPD) Intraoral Sensor features a new sensor technology designed to provide ideal image quality and clarity. The sensors feature a thin, ergonomic design for patient comfort, and have been tested to withstand the use required to capture 500,000 exposures.

HOW*

DXPD sensor technology loses fewer x-ray photons during the image capture process when compared with a CMOS sensor. This allows DXPD sensors to capture clear radiographs that provide diagnostic detail without the need for time consuming image processing, according to AMD Lasers. Because DXPD sensors require fewer layers than CMOS sensors, the Acuity sensors feature a thinner profile, and a lower cost than other sensor technologies.
