A new class of Ceramill Zirconia is pushing esthetics to the next level

Article

Dental Lab Products gives an in-depth look at the new Ceramill Zolid FX Multilayer Zirconia from Amann Girrbach.

Ceramill Zolid FX Multilayer is a polychromatic, super-high-translucent zirconia with integrated shade and translucency gradient. Smooth shade transitions simulate enamel, dentin and cervical shades in a naturally fluent progression without interfering shade break lines.

In this way each Ceramill Zolid FX Multilayer blank covers two VITA tooth shades. To ensure complete shade stability Amann Girrbach has linked the shades integrated in the blank with an intelligent nesting concept. Material-analogous visualization of the shade gradient enables the user to position the design in the blank according to the selected tooth and fabricate it with the aid of CNC.

Intelligent Nesting concept allows to position the design in the blank according to the selected tooth shade.

Ceramill Zolid FX Multilayer blanks are creating a new class of cubic zirconia in the Ceramill Zirconia product portfolio by combining the high translucency of SHT zirconia with the cost-effectiveness and efficiency of pre-shaded dental materials.

The easily processed material ensures highly esthetic restorations in one step without staining or reworking. Zirconia blanks with the brand name of Ceramill Zolid FX provide a translucency that up to now was only known from lithium disilicate, yet they simultaneously also have strength values that allow up to 3-unit bridges to be fabricated, even in the molar region. Patient, dentist and technician reportedly benefit from a much greater assurance compared with previous materials used for fully anatomical restorations, e.g. lithium disilicate.

Ceramill Zolid FX Multilayer is currently available with shade gradients 0/A1, A2/A3.0/B1, B2/B3. Other shades are in development.
