#MHThankful: An easy way for dental hygienists to help those in need
Sure, you have lots of reasons to be thankful this week (as we head into Thanksgiving) and throughout the holiday season. However, Anastasia Turchetta, RDH, is giving you a quick and easy way to show your thankfulness and help someone in need.
Sure, you have lots of reasons to be thankful this week (as we head into Thanksgiving) and throughout the holiday season. However, Anastasia Turchetta, RDH, is giving you a quick and easy way to show your thankfulness and help someone in need.
For every selfie written with #MHThankful on it loaded onto the Modern Hygienist Facebook page, Turchetta will donate $1 to Operation Smile, an international children's medical charity that performs safe, effective cleft lip and cleft palate surgery, and delivers postoperative and ongoing medical therapies to children in low- and middle-income countries.
“Way too often, we take for granted the ability to smile and eat,” said Turchetta, the editor for Modern Hygienist. “This year, I want to have Modern Hygienist subscribers and all dental hygienists to have a chance to help someone in need. Operation Smile is a wonderful charity and this is an easy way to support the amazing work they do. All it takes is a selfie and a hashtag.”
