Zest Anchors' President and CEO Steve Schiess joins us for this week's episode of DPR Friday to discuss the launch of the company's new LOCATOR Overdenture Implant System. Zest Anchors has been most recognized throughout the years for its LOCATOR Overdenture Attachment. Here, Schiess shares the key industry trends that led to the company's development of the new implant system.
"Zest has been focused on developing treatment solutions for the patient," said Schiess. "Over the last several years we've seen things that have impacted our thoughts on moving forward into the future."
According to Schiess, there has been an overwhelming success for the adoption of dental implants; however, only six percent of denture wearers have their dentures retained by implants. Furthermore, of those denture wearers who have their dentures retained by implants, one third of them are retained by implants smaller than 3mm.
The new dental implant was also developed around the impact that the recession has had on dental patients.
"The global recession has had a great impact on the discretionary income of patients and many of them can't afford treatment plans," said Schiess. "With all this in mind, Zest has developed and introduced the LOCATOR Overdenture Implant System."
