The "Stop Zombie Mouth" campaign, launched by the American Dental Association and PopCap Games, the creator of the video game Plants vs. Zombies, aims to encourage good oral health among children through the distribution of Plants vs. Zombies-themed trading cards that feature tips for keeping teeth healthy as an alternative to candy.

Continuing through Halloween, the campaign will help promote healthy teeth to U.S. children and their parents. PopCap will donate several million copies of the video game, more than one million free packs of the game-inspired trading cards, and other items with tips for good oral health.

According to the ADA website, 20,000 "Stop Zombie Mouth" kits have been created for ADA members. Each kit includes packs of five collectible trading cards with ADA branding and redemption codes for a free game download. There are 50 sets of cards in a box along with a poster and tent card for office display. The kits are free for members but the ADA will charge a nominal shipping fee. ADA member dentists can obtain free "Stop Zombie Mouth" kits to hand out to patients (redeemable for the full PC/Mac edition of Plants vs. Zombies) at www.adacatalog.org. Downloadable coupons will also be available from www.stopzombiemouth.com.

D.D.S. Dan

DENTSPLY Caulk has created D.D.S. Dan, a character who will be starring in short dental dilemma-themed video episodes on its website. The short episodes will highlight problems that dentists face and provide solutions.
