I'm your host for this week DPR editorial director Noah Levine and on this week's podcast we've got seven new products to cover with launches from Adravision, Formlabs, Owandy Radiology, Henry Schein Orthodontics, Dental Creations, and Dental Blue Box. So, let's get to it and learn about these newly launched dental products.

First up, Adravision recently received FDA 510(k) clearance for Adravision Perio. This software as a medical device utilizes real time artificial intelligence to assist dentists and hygenists in assessing mesial and distal bone levels in radiographs. Adravision Perio not only enhances patient comprehension, but also streamlines the claims process for insurers helping reduce fraud. This innovative platform is designed to improve the interpretation of dental radiographs, ultimately empowering clinicians to provide optimal patient care.

Moving on to 3D printing, Formlabs introduces its Resin Pumping System, which is designed to expand the printing capabilities for Formlabs 3 series printers. This plug-and-play system replaces the standard 1-liter resin cartridges with a 5 liter supply, allowing the system to operate without changing resin for an extended period of time. Dental labs can benefit from a significant reduction in cost per part, and an 86% reduction in packaging waste, making it a sustainable choice for dental professionals.

Also new from Formlabs, Premium Teeth Resin is an FDA registered class II biocompatible material specifically designed for digital production of dentures and temporary implant supported restorations. The nano-ceramic filled material mimics the translucency of natural teeth and offers ideal physical properties to provide longevity and durability. With a simplified workflow and high printing accuracy, this new resin can be a valuable addition for dental practices and labs.

Next up, the latest in intraoral scanners is the Owandy-IOS from Owandy Radiology. With a goal of making high-quality intraoral scanning accessible to everyone this affordable, AI-enhanced scanner is fast, accurate, and comes in both wired and wireless options. With advanced optics and imaging technology, this scanner ensures precise and high resolution scans. It's AI-enhanced Fast Scan setting assists with soft tissue removal and overlap correction, providing dental professionals with a powerful tool to deliver the best possible care to their patients. No calibration or warmup is needed, making this a plug and play solution. Additionally, Owandy-IOS software integrates seamlessly with popular CAD/CAM systems such as exocad.

New from Henry Schein Orthodontics, the Carriere Motion Pro bite corrector is a versatile device designed for both class II and class III malocclusions. Designed to treat the anteroposterior dimension of a patient's occlusion. This device allows clinicians to achieve a class I platform within 3 to 6 months of treatment. Additionally, it features a custom designed drop in hook and reinforced cuspid pad hook among many other design elements.

Next up is Dang Good Debubblizer from Dental Creations. This non-contaminating spray works its magic on impressions and investments, reducing surface tension and ensuring smooth void- and bubble-free castings. It's designed to help provide a smoother finish, saving time for lab technicians and producing accurate castings.

Finally, Blue Box is a new compact and portable mobile dentistry platform. Weighing in at 50 pounds and featuring adjustable heights and swivel armrests, the Blue Box is ideal for remote and emergency dental care. It features a true high volume evacuation system, autoclavable components, and a self contained water and air supply system. This helps provide a clean and safe environment for both patients and practitioners, wherever an operatory happens to be set up.

Medit Link 3.2 from Medit is designed to help labs and dental clinics foster stronger connections through digital technology. On the lab side, the new Medit Scan for Labs version 1.6.0 introduces intelligent additional scanning and half arch alignment. Medit Scan for Clinics version 1.11 introduces enhancements that are designed for higher accuracy and smoother scanning. The updated software allows you to more quickly resume a scan after stopping, and high resolution data processing and the smart scan review feature are designed to improve accuracy and save time by eliminating the need for rescanning due to errors. Another key update to Medit Link version 3.2 is the patient menu which is designed to streamline case management and make it more intuitive and efficient. The patient filtering feature enhances organization and allows a targeted approach to case management which optimizes the workflow when handling digital dentistry cases.

First up 3Sixty recently expanded their product line with an aim of helping enhance dental practice workflows. The new products include 3Sixty Crystals Aligners, 3Sixty Crowns, scalloped guides, and other guide variants. According to a company press release, these new offerings were strategically curated to elevate efficiency and empower dentists to help foster clinical versatility and patient centric approaches.

Next up Chairside Zirconia from Roland DGA. Compatible with the DGSHAPE DWX-42W series of wet mills, this new material is designed for streamlined, chairside workflows. It features an exclusive 3-layer gradient design, made up of 25% incisal 25% transition and 50% dentin translucency. This allows the material to better mimic natural tooth material. Chairside Zirconia does not require sintering after milling but still provides an average flexural strength of 500 MPa. The material aims to make a simple prep, scan, design, mill, and seat workflow possible for same day dentistry.

Meyerson Dental's new Trusana Premium Denture System is a complete solution for high quality 3D-printed dentures. Powered by the patented Trusana formulation, this digital denture solution offers high flexural strength, wear resistance, and still provides lifelike esthetics. A 1-step bonding process saves time during production and multiple shades are available for both Premium 3D Tooth Resin and Premium 3D Denture Base Resin. The Trusana Premium Denture System is available exclusively through Zhan Dental.

Next up, Convergent Dental recently announced the availability of Solea Protect, a new application for the Solea all-tissue dental laser. This application, developed after decades of research, aims to reduce mineral loss in dental enamel, providing protection against acid attacks and caries. Solea's 9.3 micron wavelength CO2 laser gently heats the surface of tooth enamel. This removes impurities and creates a strong crystallike structure that is more resistant to decay than untreated enamel.

Finally, Clinux CAD is a cloud-based CAD software application that now allows clinicians to mix and match different design methods on a tooth by tooth basis. Other newly expanded design capabilities include inlay and onlay indications and a margin function tool. With a range of flexible license options, the platform is designed to make digital dentistry easily accessible to anyone.

I'm your host for this week, DPR Editorial Director Noah Levine and on this week's podcast, we've got a bevy of new products to talk about, including the latest from Kerr Dental, PreXion, DMG, ASI Dental Specialties, and more. So let's get to it and learn about this latest collection of new dental products.

Kerr Dental has introduced SimpliShade Bulk Fill and SimpliShade Bulk Fill Flow, 2 dental composites aimed at improving flexibility and simplicity in restorative procedures. These products, powered by Ternary Adaptive Response technology aim to deliver long lasting restorations with reduced shrinkage and enhanced strength. Both materials feature a one-shade system that matches all 16 VITA Classical shades. SimpliShade Bulk Fill can be placed in increments of up to 5 mm and it can be used without a capping layer. SimpliShade Bulk Fill Flow is a self-leveling composite providing comprehensive coverage. It also can be cured in 5 mm increments, and it should be placed beneath a capping layer.

Italian manufacturer MGF Compressors now offers a new line of IoT (Internet of Things) Compressors designed to enhance work efficiency in dental practices. These smart compressors use internet connectivity to monitor usage parameters, manage regular upkeep, and provide predictive maintenance. This technology shifts equipment service from a reactive intervention to a preventive and programmed approach, ensuring targeted, fast and efficient responses. It offers real-time monitoring and connectivity to service technicians through the MGF app.

The new Evolve Sensor from PreXion is a digital intraoral sensor that provides high definition images. This sensor is fully compatible with all x-ray equipment on the market and offers user-friendly software. The Evolve sensor connects to a computer via USB cable, and its advanced image processing provides sharp images for accurate diagnosis.

The 3-in-1 PreXion 3D Evolve CBCT - Panoramic and Cephalometric imaging system is designed to be a complete dental imaging solution that can grow with a practice while providing top of the line imaging capabilities in any of its 3 imaging modalities. In the panoramic mode, it offers multislice capability for precise visualization and optimal sharpness and contrast. The addition of the optional cephalometric arm enhances diagnostic potential with specialized imaging of hard and soft tissues.

ZimVie recently launched Azure Multi-Platform Product Solutions, a platform consisting of 13 dental laboratory focused prosthetic and restorative solutions. These solutions are designed for seamless integration into digital workflows, offering dental professionals a wide range of options for tooth replacement cases. Azure aims to simplify decision making for dental laboratories by providing high quality, profitable and well supported solutions for almost any implant case in a single place. The product range includes implant compatible prosthetics, bases, attachments, blanks, screws, and tools.

Amann Girrbach has enhanced its chairside CAD/CAM solution with the Ceramill DRS software upgrade 1.5. The upgrade includes features like faster scanning speeds and improved 3D scan display colors. The Ceramill Motion DRS milling machine now supports a broader range of materials and offers both validated and generic milling strategies. A new Ceramill DRS abutment workflow streamlines the design and milling of crowns and abutments for implant cases. The software update also includes additional features like the Artex CR virtual articulator, color visualization for natural restoration design, and simplified software installation and updates.

With the introduction of the new Admira Fusion BXL shade, there are now 19 available shades for VOCO's universal nanohybrid ORMOCER restorative material. This new bleach shade enhances the materials eesthetics and is available in both caps and syringes. Admira Fusion boasts low shrinkage, immediate esthetics, easy handling, and superior biocompatibility. It eliminates traditional monomers in the formulation and offers an optimal balance of translucency and opacity. Admira Fusion is compatible with conventional bonding agents and demonstrates high wear resistance.

ASI Dental Specialties recently introduced the GliderLite dental surgical table, designed to optimize essential material accessibility during procedures, even in smaller operatory spaces. The table is compatible with standard dental patient chairs and features a non-porous main worktop surface. It offers ample space for sterile instruments and accessories, including an optional floating instrument shelf, and dovetail rails for customization. With electrical height adjustment and programmable presets, clinicians can personalize their working positions. Integrated power outlets make it easy to keep equipment powered on as the table is moved.

DMG announced the DentaMile Desk MC system, an all in one solution for 3D printing in dental practices and small dental laboratories. The system combines a 3D printer, washing unit, and curing unit for nearly plug-and-play experience. It includes the compact DentaMile Desk MC-5 DLP printer, a washing unit with efficient preset programs, and a curing unit with Omni 360-degree technology. The system is compatible with DMG's LuxaPrint suite of 3D printing resins, offering a range of materials for various dental applications. The DentaMile Connect software streamlines 3D printing with automated nesting and slicing, and it can be accessed remotely.

Finally, the latest version of NovoHealth Dental from NovoDynamics uses artificial intelligence to automate the insurance claim verification process. It is designed to detect missing documentation and ensure that anatomical references are visible in the insurance claims prior to submission. The platform assists providers in correcting incomplete claims before payer review. It is capable of automatically recognizing attachment types, distinguishing individual views from full mouth series, identifying and labeling quadrants and teeth, and checking for compliance with payer-specific evidence requirements. It also performs clinical analyses to determine if the evidence meets payment criteria. The platform reportedly results in enhanced productivity, consistency, and cost savings for both payers and providers, leading to faster and more accurate claim decisions.

The ProMate EZ-Q hygiene handpiece from Pac-Dent is designed to enhance procedural efficiency and precision for dental hygienists. This advanced handpiece introduces a quick disconnect mechanism promising a seamless patient flow and simplification of sterilization procedures. Operating it up to 3000 revolutions per minute, the ProMate EZ-Q incorporates an innovative swivel head design, providing clinicians with a 360-degree range of motion for superior control. The handpiece also features a universal prophy angle connection, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of disposable prophy angle styles from a wide range of manufacturers. It's lube free motor reduces maintenance demand and contributes to the handpieces durability. It's crafted with a stainless steel exterior, so the ProMate EZ-Q is able to withstand autoclaving, which adds to its convenience and durability. c

Calling them the Dynamic Duo, Buffalo Dental Manufacturing is now bundling its V35 Electric Handpiece and the ThermoKnife to enhance dental laboratory workflows. This bundle is engineered to save time and money while optimizing bench space, particularly when detailing aligners. The handpiece offers speeds ranging from 14,000 to 35,000 rotations per minute, allowing for precise speed selection for various cutting needs. The high torque motor ensures smooth operation and robust performance reducing operator fatigue. The ThermoKnife is fast heating and the temperature control is fully adjustable for precise cutting action. A switch allows the use of two different thermal pens with ergonomic design and sharp permanent tips.

DEXIS recently introduced the ORTHOPANTOMOGRAPH OP 3D LX, it's the latest generation of its OP 3D series of cone beam imaging solutions. This advanced extraoral imaging system offers an expanded field of view of up to 15 by 20 centimeters. It seamlessly integrates with artificial intelligence-powered DTX Studio Clinic software, providing powerful tools for enhanced diagnosis and treatment planning. The improved patient positioning system and the Embedded Noise Reduction Technology ensure clean, crisp, artifact-free images. Additionally, the cloud connectivity of the OP 3D LX enables remote access, simplifying installation, maintenance and enhancing practice efficiency.

Finally, the Neoss Group recently unveiled the NeoScan 2000. Its latest version of an intraoral scanner is wireless, and it builds upon the success of its predecessor, the NeoScan 1000. The new scanner's wireless technology enhances mobility and makes it easier and more efficient to scan, even in challenging areas. The wireless connectivity works over long ranges and provides smooth data transfer. Scans can be stored in Neoss' free cloud solution for easier data management.

In collaboration with Osstell, Neoss Group recently introduced NeoTell, an implant stability testing device. NeoTell uses resonance frequency analysis technology to swiftly and accurately assess implant stability. This affordable solution provides an objective stability score benefiting both clinicians and patients in making informed treatment decisions. NeoTell is user friendly and eliminates the need for invasive procedures, leading to improved patient outcomes. The device is compatible with SmartPegs which offer a convenient and sterile way to do stability testing which enhances the precision of treatment planning and contributes to heightened patient satisfaction.

Pac-Dent recently introduced an expansion to its Rodin product line with Rodin Bond, a versatile, light-cured dental adhesive that features cutting edge glass filler technology that deeply permeates dentin tubules, creating strong structural bonds. It is compatible with various dental materials including dentin, enamel, composites, zirconia, and metals. When used with Rodin Sensiguard, a 2-in-1 desensitizer and primer, it further enhances bonds and reduces sensitivity. Both products are designed for efficiency with a user friendly flipped up cap for precise dispensing.

Align Technology recently introduced a range of new updates to enhance their dental treatment planning software and other product offerings. One update for their ClinCheck software is a new plan editor which gives dentists the ability to easily edit treatment plans within the software. Changes made are quickly reflected in the treatment plan, allowing for real time adjustments to ensure the best possible care for patients. The new Align Oral Health Suite is an innovative software app that empowers clinicians to create custom oral health reports using Align's iTero Element series of intraoral scanners. Patients can gain a clearer understanding of their dental and oral health conditions through these easy to visualize reports. On the Invisalign aligners front, a new feature for SmartForce attachments reduces the need for double attachments. This enhancement improves the esthetics of aligners without compromising care quality. Finally, the new Vivera retainer subscription model is available. This is for non-first time patients and allows them to conveniently order retainers directly from their doctor, which eliminates the need for office visits.

Also new from Align Technology is the Invisalign Palatal Expander. This new 3D printed solution for palatal expansion and growing patients is unlike traditional metal expanders, in that it does not need any screws to be turned. The palatal expanders are crafted using a proprietary 3D printing formula to ensure rapid and safe expansion and a more comfortable process for young patients. It addresses hygiene concerns with its removable design, and when used in conjunction with Invisalign First aligners, it provides comprehensive early orthodontic solution. The Invisalign palatal expander is expected to enter the market officially in 2024, pending regulatory approval.

Weave recently introduced Practice Analytics to aid dental practices with data driven decision making advice. Compatible with Dentrix, Open Dental, and Eaglesoft practice management software platforms, the new feature builds upon Weave's existing message analytics and phone analytics capabilities, providing dental professionals with real time performance metrics on patient retention, appointment scheduling efficiency, treatment acceptance rates, and revenue generation. Practice Analytics also unveils unscheduled restorative or hygiene treatment plans, highlights cancellations, and reveals the average time between treatments. Additionally, it facilitates seamless patient communications through its mobile application. This robust analytics tool empowers dental practices to track missed opportunities related to patient care, patient volumes, revenue and resource utilization.

Cocofloss has launched Cocoshine, on innovative toothpaste with a nano-hydroxyapatite formula designed to tackle four essential tasks simultaneously. Cocoshine whitens teeth, addresses sensitivity, balances the oral microbiome, and strengthens enamel. The nano-hydroxyapatite formulation penetrates beneath the tooth surface to remineralize and fortify, repairing microcracks and enhancing whiteness. It addresses hypersensitivity by replenishing lost minerals and filling dentinal tubules. This oral care solution also contains key ingredients like xylitol, coconut oil, and aloe vera. It's free from sulfates, parabens, propylene glycol, triclosan, artificial dyes, and sweeteners. Cocoshine is cruelty free, vegan, and available in two flavors, delicious mint or lychee breeze.

AirPay recently introduced its new solution designed to simplify and automate the pre-appointment workflows for dental front desk teams. The system also seamlessly integrates with NeoBase and Access Abutments for comprehensive treatment design.

The innovative Samba robotic toothbrush from CURAPROX is a groundbreaking device aimed at empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve effective and independent oral health care. While this population has traditionally relied on the help of others to maintain their oral health. This cutting-edge robotic toothbrush aims to make it possible for more people to maintain their own health. Samba employs a combination of low- and high-frequency oscillations to drive 12,900 soft bristles along the teeth. This creates a dynamic brushing motion covering a full arch of teeth and gums all at once. By cleaning 36 tooth surfaces simultaneously, Samba cuts brushing time in half. Samba's design eliminates the need for manual hand movements, allowing effective oral hygiene even for people with limited mobility.

Ackuretta's new CURIE Plus is a next-generation UV curing oven engineered for efficiency. It boasts an expanded chamber capacity capable of curing up to 8 full arches at once, which allows it to pair perfectly with Ackuretta SOL 3D printers. With its wide UV wavelength coverage, and 360º light distribution. CURIE Plus ensures each layer of the print is fully cured, eliminating the need to manually flip prints while curing. This not only saves time but also enhances the accuracy of 3D-printed parts. CURIE Plus is also designed for use with nitrogen, and saturating the chamber with up to 95% nitrogen can enhance light absorption. This innovation delivers enhanced esthetics, including improved color transparency, smoothness, and up to 25% more flexural strength, according to Ackuretta. The oven features an intuitive 5-inch touchscreen for monitoring heating parameters and a convenient one-click open lock door mechanism to minimize UV leakage.

The new CA 1:2.5 L Micro-Series contra-angle electric handpiece attachment from Bien-Air is designed for a variety of clinical surgical and periodontal procedures, including apicoectomies, crown removal, and crown lengthening, this compact and lightweight handpiece prioritizes ergonomics, comfort, power, and precision. It's designed with an irrigation line that runs through the handpiece, ensuring it stays clear of the clinician's grip, making procedures even more efficient and comfortable for the clinician.

Remedo's proprietary Phoenix technology combines generative AI with expert input to create attractive personalized websites for dental practices in just a few moments. These all-in-one digital healthcare marketing solutions are designed to attract new patients and elevate your practice. Remedo websites feature tailored content crafted by AI and expert dentists providing a platform to connect with patients 24/7 and showcasing practices services and testimonials. The websites can provide scheduling, access to practice resources, and of course effective digital communication with current and prospective patients. The websites feature responsive designs for seamless browsing, fast loading times to keep patients engaged, and ADA compliance.

Finally, ClinicCAD is Medit's new CAD software that takes a scan-to-design approach to digital dental technology. The platform is optimized for crafting crowns, bridges, inlays, and temporaries with precision and ease. What sets ClinicCAD apart is its advanced AI capabilities, enabling clinicians to create dental prosthetics efficiently. Additionally, ClinicCAD is compatible with Apple Mac desktop computers.

I'm your host for this week, DPR editorial director Noah Levine and on this week's podcast we'll be covering RAPID ACCESSGUIDE from SICAT, PracticeTek's new Ora practice management solution, Angel Aligners from AngelAlign Technology, Buzzy from Pain Care Labs CandidPro's new mixed dentition support, and ProBiora Professional Strength in Orange from ProBiora Health. So let's jump right in and talk about these latest industry innovations.

Up first, we've got RAPID ACCESSGUIDE from SICAT. This is a new way to do endodontics with a 3D printed guide to make sure that you're going to follow the correct anatomy and really clean out everything in that canal. The system provides a printable endodontic guide file that's based on an AI completed design that can be ready in 20 minutes or less. This can be produced in-office if you've got a 3D printer, and the treatment planning ahead of that is using SICAT's endo software.

Ora from PracticeTek is a new practice management solution that's aimed at the DSO market. This solution is said to be built around using the data gathered from running multiple practices to provide actionable insights that the practices can use to improve efficiency in both clinical and business matters. It's a complete practice management solution with everything from scheduling to patient communications, patient charting, and even integrated customized payment plans.

ProBiora Health is adding orange as a new flavor for their professional strength oral probiotics. The new orange flavor is aimed at adult patients, and just like their original flavor for adults, it features 3 strains of naturally occurring oral bacteria that is said to be beneficial to oral health. According to ProBiora, these probiotics are said to help maintain the balance of your oral microbiome.

CandidPro's clear aligner platform now supports mixed dentition cases. This can be especially ideal for young patients who might require combination airway and aligner therapy. The new indications from CandidPro also include upgraded interproximal reduction support, expanding what this clear aligner platform can do and the number of patients that can be treated with CandidPro clear aligners.

AngelAlign Technology is entering the US market with their Angel Aligner brand of clear aligners. This brand has been around the globe after originating in China many years ago. Their clear aligners are designed to be used for a range of malocclusions and complex orthodontic cases. Their treatment planning software incorporates 3D CBCT data as well as intraoral scan data, and the aligners can be designed to feature attachments and buttons to allow for highly customized orthodontic treatments.

Now FDA-approved for use in dental injections, Buzzy from Pain Care Labs is a really cute pain care device that combines with an icepack to help reduce the pain of dental injections as well as other injections. The device is shaped like a bee and the whole system is designed to both reduce pain and help reduce the fear around dental injections which can prevent people from seeking treatment. The device works by using an M-stim technology that provides mechanical stimulation. Combined with the ice pack, it reduces pain and makes the injection process much less uncomfortable for your patients.
